North Huntsville has 11 schools for those not in one of the 6 colleges in the city. For elementary schools: James I Dawson Elementary, Rolling Hills Elementary, Lakewood Elementary, Martin Luther King Jr. Elementary, Highlands Elementary, Montview Elementary, and Chapman Elementary. For Middle and Jr.High schools: Chapman Middle, and Ronald E. McNair Jr.High. For High schools: Jemison High, and Lee High. The colleges include: University of Alabama- Huntsville, Oakwood University, Alabama A&M University, J.F Drake State Community Technical College, Calhoun Community College - Huntsville, and Alabama School of Cyber Technology and Engineering.
Away from downtown, North Huntsville includes small business around Lincoln Mill, hiking at Wade Mountain Nature Preserve,golfing at the Huntsville Country Club, visiting the North Alabama Public Library and more.
North Huntsville is mainly populated by those in school, new business, and is continuing to be one of the main parts of the city that is growing.
